What are your payment terms? Do you require a deposit?
We generally require a deposit to secure the event date so no-one else can book it -
around 25% of the total quotation, with the balance paid on or before the night.

What assurance do we have that you will turn up? Any contract?
We are happy to sign a contract with all times listed so there can be no misunderstandings.
Not that there ever is anyway - I always keep in contact and respond to emails and phonecalls promptly).

In the unlikely event that we can not show up (this has NEVER happened), we will refund any
deposit paid in full plus an additional 25% of the total fee.

What Sound Equipment do you use?
I think this is an important question to ask (but then I am a radio electronics tech so might be a little biased)

You hear horror stories of djs using their home stereo equipment or worse. The Sound System should
be reliable and built for the job. Home stereo equipment is designed to work in a small room, whereas
professional PA gear is designed to run for long periods in large spaces (and is priced accordingly).

For most performances with up to 120 guests, my preference is to use the powered Wharfedale Pro 15
inch drivers and horns with a matching Wharfedale Pro Subwoofer to add a little punch to the bass.

For larger or outdoor gigs, I will often add a double 18 front loaded subwoofer, and for the really big ones
I'll drag out the bandpass subwoofer which takes four people to move. I also own two spare sets of
15 inch speakers (B&C and Eminence) with more than 12,000 Watts of power available.

My preference for decks are Numark CDX Vinyl cd record players linked to PC running VDJ with
Pioneer DJM700 mixer and Edirol midi controller. This allows me to mix and scratch like I always have
using vinyl records, plus all the benefits of digital like not having to cart around four crates of records
and music videos or karaoke.

Remember anyone with a home stereo plugged into their laptop can call themselves a dj!!

We need background music for before you start - what can you do?
We will provide a portable PA including a cd\mp3 player with more than 5 hours of background
music ready to go when you turn on the power switch. The portable system includes a wireless
microphone which can be used for mc/speeches as required.

Alternatively we can be there for your entire meal, ceremony or reception if your budget will allow.

What lighting do you have?
Musical Cheers have several options for lighting and will tailor the lighting package to suit
your requirements and venue choice.

All our lighting packages are fully controllable by the dj and can be set to subtle and
mood enhancing for earlier, with settings for more spectacular later at night.

The Standard Lighting Package includes 2 X moving mirror scanners, 2 X 16 million colour LED PAR Cans,
mirrorball, 1500W strobe light, and green laser. All lights are fully controllable from the small dmx desk
and are mounted on a convenient single pole lightstand.

The Lighting Upgrade Package is for larger events/venues and includes 2 X Scanners, 2 X Martin Acrobats,
4 sets of Chauvet 240W Colour Wash, 1500W Strobe Light, Cartoon Graphics Lasershow, mirrorball,
all mounted on a large four metre lighting truss. The Upgrade Lighting Package is controlled by a notebook
computer running Lightfactory DMX control software and interface.

What music do you play?
Anything that you and your guests want to dance to.

We have a huge range of music in our collection from classic 60s and 70s through to the latest top40
dance mixes, rock, r&b, rap, techno, hard house, electro, trance - you name it.

We will also happily play tracks from your cds and encourage requests from your guests
to help shape the evening's music playlist.

We encourage you to select some favourite tunes from our playlist of most requested songs.
This is definitely NOT all the music we have - a lot of the latest stuff is not on there as this list
is really a one size fits all and is really more suitable for weddings than for school dances.
Just let me know any other songs you want - we probably have them already.

Who actually performs at the event?
It has been suggested that multiple system companies have been known to use inexperienced djs
to make up the numbers. I am not a multiple system company - its just me. I personally setup, attend,
play, and packdown at every event so you can be assured of my personal attention at all times.
I will sometimes bring another dj on the day to assist with setup and packdown, request taking, etc.

How far will you travel to perform?
I will travel as far as you like but you need to bear in mind the additional costs for
travel and accommodation would usually mean you are better off booking a local dj
(mind you they probably wont be as good ;)

...so fly me to London for a two hour electro house set - I'm packed and ready to go ;)

How much do you charge?
We offer great discounts for some venues and have many upgrade options available, therefore
it is almost impossible to provide a pricing quote without some discussion of your
occasion and exactly what you require.
